On Monday I had a most wonderful evening: a dear friend invited me to a night at the Opera! At the La Fenice theater, the Opera Theater here in Venice, where I hadn't been in years. Quick update because they just released the first trailer for the BBC1 adaptment of Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell, and it looks amazing. A lot better than I hoped, basically perfect. Eddie Marsan as Mr Norrell seems to have jumped out of the pages of the book!

Just finished Susanna Clarke's Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell. It is, hands down, one of the best books I have ever read.
